Hello & welcome

A little about me:

Megan is a dedicated Social Worker offering clinical supervision to family violence specialist practitioners and Alcohol & Other Drug practitioners, with extensive experience working within family and gender-based violence and their intersections.

Megan works with multidisciplinary teams, balancing the competing needs and priorities of clients and practitioners. With a background working with mandated clients, she also navigates the complexity of (in)voluntary clients, where their motivation often begins extrinsically.

In her role, Megan supports practitioners to consider more deeply the impact of gender-based violence and promotes the deepening of assessment and understanding of risk, allowing for real harm reduction strategies to take place. She also aids men in sitting with their own decision-making processes, effectively safety planning for themselves, and prioritising the safety of others, ensuring both they and the people they care about are kept safe.

Within a risk-averse climate, Megan excels in supporting individuals and families at the intersections of family violence, the forensic sector, alcohol and other drugs, family services, and Child Protection. With a compassionate clinical background, Megan specialises in providing personalised consultancy for assessing and managing risk, safety planning, and case management.

Megan brings nuanced experiences working within a harm minimisation framework in the AOD sector while adeptly navigating systems tailored to hold a zero-tolerance perspective. Committed to best practices and clinical obligations, Megan provides clinical supervision across regions within Victoria, ensuring MARAM (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management) obligations are met. Her empathetic approach and deep understanding of these critical areas make her a trusted ally in helping families navigate challenging situations with care and expertise.
